Opposites Attract

Happy Valentines day everyone

the idea behind this piece is my two characters are elemental spirits and although they are complete opposite from each other they cant help but feel attracted to their natural opposite.

My female spirit is of a ice and cold element. her story is she's a good spirit who acts as a guardian and protector of unfortunate travelers who lost their way while climbing the mountains.

My male spirit is of a fire and heat element. his story is he's a little bit darker spirit, not evil but rather mischievous who controls camp fires through dancing. he doesnt harm anyone just scares them with his tricks.

( if you look hard enough you can see the flame spirit really does have a heart )

he kinda stalks these travelers heading to the mountain, and although its cold he couldnt help but want to play a prank. when he gets the opportunity to pull his prank with the fire, the female spirit comes in and tries to put him out. amongst all the fighting however, they get to see each other and find the other curious of them.

the meaning behind it is people can be exact opposites, but still be attracted to the others that are different from them


the piece is done by oil pastel. i once was good with it back in middle school so i thought i try my luck with it again.

i think my color choices were good, textures could use some work.

but overall, im happy with it

i mean i think i could have done somethings a little bit better, but i think its fair

no prize winner, but im glad i tried.
